SLUMDOG........A REAL MILLIONAIRE

After hearing so much about this film from the tv channels and the news papers today took some time to watch the movie and i must admit its really worth watching the movie. Mind you this is no masterpiece which would totally engulf you and take you to its mood, but is a commendable effort on showing the real facets of life ...........which with GODS grace many of us would even think off.
The movie starts off with the lead actor being interviewed............dont think its for a job but in a police station and the crime he committed ??????
Guess ...........winning 1 crore rupees in the game show kaun banega karodpati?
wait on ,this is no sin?? but yeh INDIA hai bhai INDIA,yahaan jiske paas paisa hotaa hai aur power hotaa hai POLICE bhee usi ki suntee hai.
THE main lead now has this difficult task on his hand to give a justification to each and every answer that he has given on the show...........!!Its entertaining in the way they have taken the story and one thing i liked very much about the movie is the screenplay. The way they have interwined the questions asked on a game show to the life of a boy born and brought up in a slum area in mumbai is really applaudable.
Acting wise...........the child artists who acted in the movie were simply awesome in their roles . ANIL KAPOOR was good and IRFAN KHAN was adequate. On the whole a movie to watch out.

MOVIE RATING : 8/10.
MUSIC BY REHMAN: BACKGROUND SCORE IS SUPERB and the english version had the songs in the background only so couldnt figure out much about them but the music was good as usual from rehman.

Guess this will be the OSCAR win INDIA has been waiting for the past few years,so lets keep our fingers crossed and wish all the best to SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and its team.

cheers
chaits

aptly commented, in India, merit needs to overcome so many hurdles, even if fortune gives it fullest support, government and people do not... is what u correctly pointed out!!

Positive points which I noticed in the movie were the darker side of Crime in india which was aptly in front of.Removing limbs certainly happens in India and was rightly presented on the screen.Rest of the things are already been watched in most of the movies,On the slip side,It was an out and out commercial attempt made by danny boyle and his team. The third world was targeted(India in this case)The call center scene in the movie where jamal was mocked as a chai wala was nothing short of arrogance.I completely accept that India should accept its reality. But unfortunately we took things emotionally only when the movie was released. For us its a emotional content ,for them its a very good business model(selling point).Americans rated it as a feel good movie!!
Well I appreciate that most of the Indians liked the movie and accepted it constructively, but did this help India in anyway except few oscars.A R and resul pookutty have done much better job in the past.
.So as a regular movie goer I will rate it as 7/10,however I wouldn't love to see the movie again.
